Meet the Team

Below is an introduction to the Physiotherapists working at Pakenham Lakeside Physiotherapy.

 

Scott Wagstaff Scott Wagstaff
B.App.Sc.(Physio), Grad. Dip. Manipulative Physiotherapy, MAPA, MMPAA.

Scott Graduated from the school of Physiotherapy, Lincoln Institute in 1980. He worked at St. Vincent’s Hospital for 3 years and completed his manipulative therapy diploma in 1983.

Scott has worked in private practice since 1983, joining the Berwick practice in 1987. He has a special interest in the management of sports and spinal injuries and hydrotherapy. From 1984-1988 Scott was team physiotherapist for St Kilda Football Club and from 1985-1992 for the Victorian Sheffield Cricket Team.

Scott’s outside interests include his family, tennis and golf and supports Melbourne Football Club.

Scott was involved in the set up of our newest practice and continues to be an active partner in the business.

Frank Andrews Frank Andrews
B.App.Sci. (Physio), Master of Manipulative Physiotherapy, MAPA, MMPAA.

Frank completed his Physiotherapy Degree in 1985, and worked at the Warrnambool Base Hospital for one year. He commenced work in private practice on returning to Melbourne in 1987, working in Dandenong from 1987-91. During this time, Frank completed the manipulative physiotherapy diploma, and joined the Berwick practice in 1990. He became a partner at Berwick Physiotherapy in 1992.

His areas of special interest are in the assessment and treatment of headaches and neck pain. He completed a Masters in Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2000, his area of study being headaches of cervical spine origin.

Frank was involved in the set up of our newest practice and continues to be an active partner in the business. He is a passionate Essendon supporter and a keen golfer.

Ross de Valle Ross de Valle
B.App.Sc.(Physio), Grad. Dip. Manipulative Physiotherapy, MAPA, MMPAA.

Graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy from La Trobe University in 1994. Completed a Post Graduate Diploma of Manipulative Physiotherapy in 1998, with a special interest in low back pain. He became a partner at Berwick Physiotherapy in 2001.
Ross has worked as a physiotherapist in Melbourne and spent 12 months working in the UK. He joined Berwick Physiotherapy in 1999.

Ross was the Victorian U/16 Softball Physiotherapist from 1996-2000. He currently teaches Post Graduate students on an APA endorsed Spinal course.

Ross has a strong sporting background having competed at State level in the 400m hurdle during the late 1990’s and now enjoys social golf and jogging.

Ross was involved in the set up of our newest practice and continues to be an active partner in the business.

David Coulson David Coulson
Bach. Physio M.A.P.A, Master Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, MMPAA

David completed his Physiotherapy degree in 1999 at La Trobe University. He worked for 2 years at Dandenong Hospital before then working in the community at Berwick Community Health Centre. After this David went to England in 2002 where he worked in outpatients centres gaining further experience in musculo-skeletal and sports injuries.

After working in England for 18 months, David returned to Australia in November 2003 and joined Berwick Physiotherapy. In October 2005 David completed his Masters degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and became a Partner of the Berwick practice in 2006. David enjoys working in all areas of physiotherapy including sports and spinal.

David was involved in the set up of our newest practice and continues to be an active partner in the business.

Adam Joyce Adam Joyce
B.App.Sci (Physiotherapy), M.A.P.A

Adam graduated from La Trobe University in 2003.  He worked at Dandenong Hospital for three years gaining experience in orthopaedics and hand therapy.   Adam undertook work for the defence force before heading overseas on a working holiday to gain further experience.

Adam joined Berwick Physiotherapy in 2007.  He has a special interest in the treatment of degenerative and traumatic hand injuries and holds an Associate Membership with the Australian Hand Therapy Association.  Adam completed his Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne in 2010.

Adam became a partner at Berwick and Pakenham Lakeside Physiotherapy in 2011.

Lauryn Brockwell Lauryn Brockwell
 

Lauryn has been practicing as a remedial massage therapist for several years and recently completed a Bachelor of Health of Science - Clinical Myotherapy.

Lauryn uses a combination of Myotherapy and remedial massage techniques to help obtain the best results for your musculoskeletal health.

Chris Latimer Chris Latimer
BSc, MSc (Distinction), BPhty (Distinction)

Chris graduated in the top of his class from the University of Otago in New Zealand with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (with Distinction) in 2008. He spent the last two and a half years working in a successful and busy private practice in New Zealand which specialised in Musculoskeletal/Sports Physiotherapy and had a very strong manual therapy and muscle balance approach before becoming a part of the Berwick/Pakenham Lakeside Physiotherapy Team in August this year. Chris has a particular interest in acute Musculoskeletal/Sports injuries, especially those involving the spine or lower limbs.

Prior to completing his Physiotherapy degree he had spent 4 years teaching academic English and studying Martial Arts in South Korea and a further year travelling. Chris also holds both a Bachelor and a Masters degree in Anatomy and Structural Biology and has taught Anatomy to Physiotherapy, Medical, Physical Education, Health Science, Biological Anthropology and Anatomy students and was actively involved in research resulting in the publication of papers both in Anatomy and Physiotherapy some of which have been presented in conferences in South Africa and Auckland. He has attended multiple post-graduate courses in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and is a keen sportsman having represented his province in soccer and he also holds black belts and has instructed in both Taekwondo and Hapkido.

Claire Dowling Claire Dowling
 

Claire has recently joined Berwick Physiotherapy, having moved to Melbourne from Ireland. Claire graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (2006), with an honours degree in Physiotherapy.

Claire went on to work with COPE Foundation, a charity organisation specialising in the care of adults and children with learning and physical disabilities. Over a five year period (2006-2011), Claire gained experience in treating and managing complex neurological, orthopaedic and respiratory conditions. Claire has a strong interest in the area of paediatric physiotherapy where throughout this time Claire gained significant experience, treating and managing congenital hip disorders, scoliosis, toe walking, gross motor impairments and developmental delay. Claire has good knowledge of Neuro-developmental therapy, Sensory integration and hydrotherapy treatment concepts having completed postgraduate courses in these areas.

Claire also has a good background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy having completed an outpatient orthopaedic rotation in Cork University hospital (2007), and worked in private practices on a sessional basis over an 18 month period (2009-2011). Claire has also maintained her skills in this area by completing manual therapy courses.

Robert Angelo Rob Angelo
 

Robert Angelo is the lastest physiotherapist to join our team at Berwick Physiotherapy and Pakenham Lakeside Physiotherapy. He began in early September, after coming over from New Zealand.

Robert graduated in 1997 from the University of Otago with a Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy. He has also completed a BSc in Chemistry and nearly completed a BA in Psychology from the University of Canterbury.

Robert also owned and managed a private practice from 2002 to 2009, building it up from a 2 person practice to a 7 person practice. His was the first clinic in the South Island north of Christchurch to attain Accreditation Status.

Robert has a strong interest in treating backs and shoulders. Having done post grad courses in manipulation, Mulligan and McKenzie techniques, dry needling, kinesio taping and kinetic control.
